Rainy Dry Lake Bed Wedding

Excited to share this Rainy Dry Lake Bed Wedding today. Sarah & Dave’s story as told by the bride:

” We meet 15 years ago the bride was 16 and the groom had just turned 19. Law braking bride meets groom in nightclub … we just knew !

And haven’t looked back since we brought our first home a couple of years later and welcomed our 3 children jack 12 / Ollie 8 / Georgia 2 Dave proposed on a night away in London 6 years ago We had my beautiful engagement ring made at a local jewelers.

We’ve been waiting for the right time to get married … but there’s never a right time … you just have to go for it ! “

Sarah & Dave had a big day planned for their elopement. I met them in their hotel room at the Bellagio as they finished up preparing. We headed downstairs for them to meet their driver. Their driver Chris was one of the nicest and most helpful drivers I have encountered. We were all so thankful to have him with us for the whole day.

First, we all headed to the North Lot at the Neon Museum for a thirty minute portrait session. After finishing up there, we headed out to the dry lake bed for their ceremony and more photos.

It had rained a day before, and typically I would suggest against going out to the dry lake bed. The dry lake turns into a big lake full of water. The dry ground does not soak up the water, and it can take some time for the water to dissipate.

Thankfully Sarah & Dave were up for the adventure and we kept the ceremony at the dry lake. The scene was gorgeous. Something you could never plan for in the desert. Only after a rain can you get the backdrop that we had. It made for very unique beautiful photos. We played around with reflections, confetti, and more.

Sara & Dave are both wedding photographers back home in the UK. I will admit I always feel a bit of pressure photographing other photographers. But they were so much fun and easy going and just a joy to be with.
