We signed up my daughter for her first ballet class.  It is a princess ballet class so they can wear princess dresses and basically whatever they want.  It was pretty much one of the cutest things I have ever seen.

It is so cute to see how much fun all the little girls have.

Picking a picture for the I heart faces challenge this week was actually pretty easy.  From this session I love love love the little boys face.  I got a few shots of him that quickly became some of my favorite children’s shots ever.

As 2011 comes to a close, I wanted to share all of my most favorite images from the year.  There were so many great sessions this year, it is really hard to narrow it down.

I was so fortunate to meet lots of great people and photograph some wonderful weddings.

It is hard to believe that this specific blog has only been around since early 2011.  My old blog was a great starting point, but my new one is much much better.

I can’t wait to see what 2012 has in store for me.  I already have some great sessions lined up and lots of changes in store for JamieY Photography.

In 2012 I will be making some changes to my pricing.  I will also be focusing more on my favorite types of sessions.  I am still offering almost all types of portraits and events, but I will be narrowing down my focus in the early part of this year.

And now for a trip down memory lane…

I really love the above image of Tommy.  I used it for one of my sample gallery wraps.

One of many of my daughter.  Her faces and expressions are what make the photos so special to me.

Another perfect example of this.  Love her faces.

Love when the groom sees his bride for the first time.

I love the sun reflecting off the glass, it was not added in photoshop.  I also love all their poses. Such a fun group of girls.

I love so many from this session but I am trying to pick only 1 from a session.

Well ok this wedding gets two. Love both of these.

Gosh that was so hard.  There are so many I left out.  Usually because I liked the whole shoot a whole bunch but couldn’t narrow it down to one for a favorite.

So, lets just say these are a few of my fav’s.

Here are Scarlett’s lovely 2 year photos.  She is one of my favorite little girls to photograph.

She is so happy and adorable.  I love all the different little expressions that she makes.

This session took place at Town Square and it was the perfect place for her to have a little fun and give us great backdrops.

I got a little creative with the one above and I freakin love it.

Profiles of kids this age are super hard to get, so I was pretty excited to get one.

Also, Christmas mini-sessions are coming up Nov. 5th  I still have a few spots left, contact me to get one!

This week me and my daughter and a couple of my photographer friends went on a little adventure to check out a new secret location.

It was pretty far away but definitely worth it.  It was fun to play around and try to practice some of the things we learned at the Skips Summer School Workshop we all went to a little over a week ago.

I also got to play with my friend Emily Ku‘s 70-200 lens which is what I am currently saving up for.  Oh boy do I love it!

That is how my daughter smiles for the camera, I much prefer her natural laughing and smiles.  This photo makes me laugh though.

Above is the beautiful Kristy.  I wish I got more photos of her, but I am sure I will have another chance.

This is Liz Le who will hopefully have a website up pretty soon.

The pictures below were barely edited.  The light really was that orange, it was pretty awesome.

And now for the beautiful and EXTREMELY lucky Emily from Emily Ku photography.  I swear she wins more contests than anyone I know, but she deserves it 😉

While we were taking photos, my daughter was playing in some mud.  It was so funny because when we told her to come over to us so we could leave she was holding her hands behind her back so I couldnt see, i thought she had something but it turns out she just had mud all over them.  She also happened to get some on her face.  She said she was making monkey pies.  I love her!

Nico is such a cute little guy.  He lives around the corner from us and my daughter just loves him.  When we go for our neighborhood walks we see him alot and they play together.  We did his portraits at a park nearby.  He loved to sit back and watch people playing.  I love his little expressions that he makes.

I noticed recently that the more I do photography as work, the less I do it for personal things.  I realized this is something I need to change.  I love photography, and not just doing it for other people.  I have a talent and I should be using it to capture people and moments that are important in my own life as well.    So I am recommitting myself to taking photographs more often of my family.

This fathers day was the perfect time.  My daughter is totally in love with my makeup.  I never put it on her, but she loves to watch me put it on and asks me what it all is.  My husband got the bright idea to put some on her, I swear it wasnt me.  He did it all himself and did a great job I must say.  We went in the backyard to play and I thought to myself, this is one of those moments I should be capturing for us to remember forever.  It just so happened I got some of my favorite pictures of my daughter thus far and I even got to play around with my new lens which lets me get much closer to her for pictures.

We have a peach tree in our backyard and this year it yielded about 50 peaches no exaggeration.  So of course we had to get some pictures of her eating our very own peaches.

I love her little mohawk in that second one.

Now of course she has been asking to wear makeup again every day, so maybe it wasnt the best idea.  But, it sure made for some cute pictures.
