Ok guys, I can’t believe one of my most epic days of my career happened in April of 2024 and I am just now getting around to blogging it.  Last April I got to take part in a Rock N Roll Bride Editorial Cover Shoot in Las Vegas.  It was truly a dream come true.  I mean I have had “Cover shot on Rock N Roll Bride Magazine” on my vision board in my office pretty much since the magazine came out like years and years ago.  So super thankful that it became a reality.

So when shooting the cover, it does take some time until you can share it.  The magazine itself came out in September and it is a quarterly magazine so to make sure people see the images in the magazine first, we have to understandably wait until the next issue is released.  So technically I didn’t wait super long till I was given the green light to share.  I had about 200 favorite images and had to whittle it down as much as I could.  Still over 150 images I am sharing here, but hey it was a dream come true and I have to share all of these. I am truly in love and obsessed and it couldn’t have been with a better team.

I got to photograph the amazing Zara.  The shoot was supposed to coincide with That Chapel Downtown’s opening, but you know how permits can go and unfortunately it was delayed so we shot in various other spots.  Velveteen rabbit, the streets in the arts district, and Midcentury Manor.  Zara wore several outfits styled by Kat with Rock N Roll Bride.  Make sure to check out the list of vendors at the bottom of this post.

A few weeks ago I hosted a styled shoot to showcase my Las Vegas Neon Sign Rentals business as well as my all-inclusive elopement planning company.

So, for those of you that don’t know already, I have a company called Rock N Romance Elopements.  It is an all-inclusive elopement services company based in Las Vegas.  We offer multiple photographers besides just me and offer easy packages to make your vegas elopement super easy.

I also recently started a Las Vegas themed neon sign rental business called Vegas Neon Signs.  We have a few true neon signs, but those are super fragile and mostly only offering one Sands sign at this time that is true neon.  We do have 3 awesome new signs that are LED neon and some have bulbs.  We have a Stardust sign that can be used as a ceremony backdrop, a sign with 3 stars in the stardust style, and a Welcome To Las Vegas sign.

These signs are perfect for a wedding, elopement, party, event, or even decor for a trade show or convention.

The best way to showcase all of this was to hold a styled shoot.  I planned and styled a shoot with a Ziggy Stardust theme to play with the Stardust sign but add a little fun rock n roll flare to it.  We held the shoot at two locations, I will share the other location in a separate post.  This one was held in the back courtyard of Esther’s Kitchen in downtown Las Vegas.  This is a location where we are currently able to hold small intimate elopements.  As the space changes, so will the options for doing a wedding out there.  But right now you can totally do something just like this.

I had some of my favorite vendors that work with Rock N Romance elopements take part in this shoot. I also had 4 of my associate photographers take part so we could showcase their work.  Josh from six strings weddings did some electric guitar music to set the vibe and this is an easy add on to make your elopement even more special.

Elopement ceremonies can truly happen in the most unlikely of spaces.  There aren’t too many limitations.  Bringing in a Neon sign to make the area even more exciting and give off that Vegas vibe so many people want, is now easy with our sign rentals. So this is a crap ton of photos but I really wanted to show everything and all the hard work all the vendors put into this.

I have been waiting a long time to share this Wedding At Park MGM Vegas. This shoot took place last year, but due to possible publications, and then me being crazy busy, I never had a chance to share it. It is a shame I waited so long because I am absolutely in love with everything about it.

I was asked to be a part of this styled shoot with a couple other photographers. Haley, set up and styled the whole wedding shoot. In part to show off the amazing space at Park MGM.

We started off in the suite in the Nomad Hotel portion. The Nomad Hotel is a wing of the Park MGM and it is fabulous. It has a much darker vibe then the Park MGM itself. The Nomad hotel is super cool and the light in there is amazing.

The ceremony shots and details took place in the Griffith Ballroom at Park MGM. Great windows and neutral pallate. We also shot inside of the Nomad Restaurant and some of their private rooms. If I had never photographed this event, I may never have had the pleasure to go inside the Nomad Restaurant. Upon entering, I was blown away. The walls are lined with bookshelves with actual antique books on them. Each shelf has it’s own lighting. They even have a spiral staircase leading up to one of the bookshelves. Normally people are not allowed, but thankfully because of the shoot our model was able to get some photographs on it.

So many amazing vendors collaborated together on this and the result was amazing.

Wedding At Park MGM Vegas

This shoot has been a long time coming.  Last August, I went to a photography workshop.  One of the main things I took away from that workshop was that I really needed to shoot for myself more often.  I have done like 1 or 2 shoots in the past that were for me, but nothing really totally 100% for me.  Its been on my list for awhile but its always so much easier to keep it on the list of to do’s and not actually start working on it.  I finally marked it off my to do list!  Doing a shoot with no expectations from any outside source is very freeing.  It is a way to show what you love and what you want to express without worrying that your clients won’t like it.

A few months ago, I was at my Yoga/Workout studio and the teacher guided us on a meditation after a really hard Shakti Pilates class.  During that meditation, I could totally envision what he was describing. The words he said after were exactly what I needed to hear at the time.  He spoke of freedom from judgement and confidence and much more.  I decided in that moment that I wanted to create a photo shoot inspired by this meditation.  I wanted an air of spirituality in the shoot and to also celebrate women and how strong we are and a sort of enlightenment and coming into that power.  Gold was the overwhelming theme as well since I pictured a golden aura surrounding this woman.  There were some things I envisioned that changed over the course of planning but I am so happy with the way it came out.  I seriously was almost in tears when I first started looking at them on my camera at home that night.

I had the best of luck with finding the model Brooke.  A local photographer helped set us up and I couldn’t be more grateful  She could not have been more perfect for what I wanted for this shoot.  I hired one of my favorite local makeup artists to do her makeup, Francesca Lombardo with Bobbie Pin Beauty.  The clothes I bought online and we ended up using only one but it was the best.  It has an almost soldier like look to it which was perfect!  I am not always the best with words and writing is not my most effective form of communication, but these photos conveyed exactly what I wanted them to.  Thank you for looking.  I know there is a ton.  I just could not narrow it down further.

Today’s blog post is from an editorial photo shoot with Desert Daisy Jewelry.  We actually did this shoot a few months ago but I have not had a chance to post the images until now.

Desert Daisy is a local jewelry artist that is by far my favorite! She works with crystals and various gems and produces the most beautiful works of art that you can wear.  There are typically 4 new lines per year.  This line was for the holiday collection.  Emma, the artist behind the brand, took a trip to Europe over the summer and was inspired there for this line.  She wanted the images to have an Elizabethan feel.  95% of the images were photographed indoors at a cool bar downtown called Corduroy.  They have a small lounge area that had the perfect dark moody look for the shoot.

There were 4 models, hair and makeup, baked goods by a local vegan bakery, and lots and lots of amazing jewelry.   We spent most of the day inside getting the main shots and then finished up playing around in the dark just a bit.

This shoot was something that was definitely outside of my comfort zone.  I don’t typically shoot portraits indoors and with all artificial lighting.  We had zero windows whatsoever.  I did take just a handful of photos outside in the sun before everyone was ready to head over to the bar.

Get ready to feast your eyes on some beautiful floral wedding inspiration!  Earlier this month I had the chance to photograph an Intimate Las Vegas Wedding Inspiration shoot.  Lorea blooms is a fairly new wedding florist in town and she wanted to show off her skills in a styled wedding photo shoot.  Now she has some great photos to showcase her work!  If you haven’t worked with Erika yet, she is fabulous at what she does.

For the main part of the shoot, the theme was rustic romance with flowers galore.  The color inspiration was deep reds and pinks and green.  Nelson was the obvious choice for the location.  Full of rustic backdrops and barns, Nelson is the perfect location for this type of shoot.  She styled a sweetheart table with gold sequin linens and a huge floral centerpiece.  The plates even had floral designs on them.

The desert tower had pink mini bundt cakes and old school hostess cupcakes.  Erika also designed a floral heart with greenery on canvas!  A true piece of floral art.

There were two other looks that she set up that day.  Cera with her dog each had their own flower masterpiece.  The dog had a floral collar and Cera had a floral hoop bouquet.  Both with pinks and oranges.  There are bunnies out at Nelson and the dog almost caught two!  Luckily no bunnies were killed and Cera didn’t break an ankle running after her dog in heels.

The kids table had some vintage retro candies and sodas as well as crayons and coloring pages for the kids.  Keeping kids occupied and happy at a wedding makes it way more enjoyable for the parents!

Lisa was another one of the models with her two sons.  She had a darker moodier look and the bouquet to match.  The bouquet had feathers in it!

Megan, her husband, and two daughters were the stars of the show for the main style of the shoot.  When a florist styles the shoot you know there are going to be lots and lots of flowers.  Flowers really do make the whole thing looks o much prettier.  The two flower girls had flower necklaces and flower bracelets as well.  Their gorgeous mother had a beautiful floral necklace that is a living statement piece.  Can I get one of these delivered to me every day?  So pretty!!  Also very unique.

I love getting to work with such creative artistic people.  To truly make a wedding look as beautiful as it is, a great team of people is needed.

A few days ago I posted photos from a Las Vegas photo shoot with Roberta Frey Designs.  You can view that one here.  For this shoot I went to Phoenix Arizona where Roberta is based.  Roberta has been designing dresses and working in the industry for many years.  Due to unexpected circumstances she had to sort of close down shop for awhile to focus on other things.

Ali Craig is a brand consultant and amazing boss lady from Arizona as well.  She is doing a show on the Success channel called “Fix My Brand” with Ali Craig.  Roberta was chosen to be one of the participants on the show.  She is ready to charge full steam ahead again and get her dresses in front of all the right people.  The perfect bride for her dresses possess a certain edge and are powerful confident women.

The shoot took place in the desert near her home outside of Phoenix AZ.  There were 3 adult models and her 2 adorable kids.  A motorcycle was brought in as well.  The models showcased several of Roberta’s amazing dresses.

Roberta Frey is a wedding dress designer based out of Arizona.  Recently, she was chosen to be on the show “Fix My Brand” with Ali Craig.  This is shoot 1 of 2!  For this session she wanted the edgy look that the Freemont East area is perfect for.  Her tattooed models Arielle & Sabrea were amazing!  The dresses are truly beautiful works of art!

We took a few photos in front of Downtown Tattoo before heading further into the Freemont East area.

This was my first time photographing actual models and it was a blast!  Stay tuned for another shoot I will be posting soon from Arizona!
